Popular pornography video website Pornhub is wrapping up 2021 by sharing some of the top search terms and most searched performers of the year. Also, the top relative for each state (and D.C.) were also listed.
Taking the top spot for "the searches that defined 2021" was "Hentai" which surpassed "Japanese" worldwide and "lesbian" in the US in 2020.

Pornhub also listed the top search terms overall in the US, taking out the "trends" that were used in determining "the searches that defined 2021." They are:

- Ebony
- Asian
- Latina
- Threesome
- BBC
- Big Ass
- C******e
They also show a map of the United States, showing the top search in each state relative to how much the terms are searched for versus other states. Washington, DC's top search was "vintage," Maryland's was "trans" and Virginia's was "dirty talk."
